Documentation for FONTS.ARC
═══════════════════════════
The file OE18R#US.SFP is an Old English font and
SP18R#US.SFP is a script font.
Both are 18 point portrait soft fonts for the
HP Laserjet+.
To download and activate, you can use font download
software such as PCLPAK from Hewlett Packard, or
Laserfonts from SoftCraft, or you can just use the
DOS COPY command with the /B parameter.
&a15L(1X
If using the DOS COPY command, you must also pass
ESCAPE codes to the Laserjet+ to tell it what font
number this is, tell it to activate the font, and
tell it this is a permanent font. These are
accomplished with the files PREFONT0/PREFONT1 and
POSTFNT0/POSTFNT1. These designate the fonts as
font#0 & font#1 respectively.
Compare the two PREFONT_ and POSTFNT_ files
to see the differences. The 0 or 1 in those
files may be changed to any other font ID you
wish between 0 and 32767.
(0X&a12L
To select fonts by ID# within a word processor, issue
the ESC sequence ESC(#X (where # is whatever font
ID number that you wish to be the primary font)
whenever you want to change primary fonts.
The batch file FONTDEMO.BAT will download the two
fonts to your Laserjet+ and print this file in each
font as a sample.
